Until now, the project calendar has answered the question what is happening this week. The timeline view answers the other one: does the plan hold all the way to handover?
What the timeline view shows
- Projects and activities in the same row hierarchy. The project sits as a summary row with start and end dates, its activities beneath it — design, customer meetings, installation, commissioning.
- Milestones as their own markers. Partial deliveries and final inspections appear as points on the timeline, not as bars without length.
- Today marked out. You see at a glance what has slipped and what still has room.
- Zoom to quarter, half year or full year. The same view for this week's installation and for the autumn delivery plan.
Plan by project or by resource
The view groups two ways. Grouped by project, you see whether the project holds. Grouped by resource, you see whether a technician is double-booked — and you can move the activity straight in the timeline.
Moving an activity updates the work orders that hang beneath it. You do not have to repeat the change in a second system, and nobody has to call around to confirm it landed.
Getting started
The timeline view is included in your licence from 1 September and sits as a tab in the project calendar — nothing needs to be switched on. If you have projects running today they are drawn immediately, using the dates already on them.
Read more about projects in Trukks or book a demo and we will show the view on your own planning.
